zagreb_01RDA Srem representatives, during the period from 17th to 19th January 2016, as a part of the Serbian delegation, had a chance with colleagues from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to present their work and projects that are related to Sava river as a common resource.

This study tour was organized by SLAP, an association for the preservation of Croatian waters and the sea and the International Sava River Basin Commission and financed by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development in the Republic of Croatia, through a program of international cooperation with the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first part of the joint work was focused on the introduction of the series of the Conference of the Sava River, the Sava Commission work with the presentation of Sava Water Council and the activities in the Sava River Basin in Croatia. A round table was also held on the subject of regional cooperation in the Sava River Basin with the presentation of relevant activities in Serbia and Bosnia, where RDA Srem had a remarkable performance with its infrastructure projects directly related to the Sava river in the region of Srem.

zagreb_02After that, the hosts organized a presentation and tour of the central wastewater treatment plant of the City of Zagreb, where the realization of a very important project as an example of quality public-private partnership could be seen.

The second day was devoted to visiting the Nature Park Lonjsko polje, its natural and cultural values as well as the functioning and organization of an extremely important reserves, which is also a natural protection from flooding of the river Sava.
