To get more efficient reporting on the achieved results, financial implementation, as well as further possibilities of development of the project “Integrated Irrigation System Srem region”, representatives of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) – Implementation Unit for EU projects at the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade visited the RDA Srem and talked with Director of RDA Srem, Milan Miric, on further direct activities on this project.
Milan Polak, project manager of the grant scheme, expressed his satisfaction with the completed project and announced the possibility that the ADA continues to support the good and promising projects in the field of socio-economic development of the Danube region, whilst the project of irrigation was a good precursor for activities that will eventually follow.
The objective of RDA Srem in the coming period is that the mentioned project of irrigation become an official basic document on which municipalities and public companies can refer as for the subsequent phases of design and investment in irrigation. Following that, RDA Srem, and in the name of the Srem region, has reached an agreement with the PWMC “Vode Vojvodine” to be an official applicant for the technical control (audit) of the project carried out by an authorized body of AP Vojvodina. Also, based on the document Pre-Feasibility Study with the General Design of irrigation of the region of Srem, a Spatial Plan of irrigation which will provide spatial and urban basis for further development of irrigation will be done.
