Since the beginning of its work, RDA Srem, one of the priorities was to raise its capacity in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy (EE and RES). Experience is gained through projects such as the development of technical documentation for the use of solar energy in preschools in Srem, strengthening of the energy management in Srem municipalities, preparation of the Study of biomass potentials in Srem, etc.
Thanks to this approach and its role in this area, RDA Srem has been recognized by the private partner to whom the technical assistance was provided in the preparation of tender documentation for the construction of three energy facilities for combined production of electricity and heat from biomass and biogas in Bač.
The entire documentation was prepared for the Public Call in the within the project “Reducing barriers to rapid market development of biomass in Serbia”, financed by the Global Fund for Environmental Protection and is implemented by UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of Mining and Energy. The total amount of the grant was $ 1.6 million.
The role of RDA Srem was to carry out a detailed project analysis and evaluation of existing techno-economic documentation of investors, preparation of the application and supporting documents as well as the very procedure of submitting the final application in accordance with the terms of the competition.
After the reported results has undeniably confirmed the quality of RDA Srem work, because the tender documentation was evaluated with the highest marks by the evaluation commission of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and all three energy facilities have received grants.
The Minister of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Antic, signed contracts on the awarded grants, emphasizing the strategic orientation of the Government to raise the share of renewable energy in total energy production in Serbia.
