Serbian Chamber of Commerce held an eminent conference on „Reducing barriers to rapid market development of biomass in Serbia.“
The event organized Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, UNDP in Serbia and Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
It is well known that the biomass has been declared as the one of the most important resources in Serbia when it comes to renewable energy sources. Regarding that, series of laws and regulations were enacted allowing the use of resources and the establishment of the biomass market.
Regional Development Agency Srem has presented a remarkable project Capacity Building Energy Management in municipalities Ruma and St. Pazova with the aim of investing and using renewable energy. The aim of this project besides strengthening of the municipal administration in terms of monitoring and facilitating investments of the RER is production of biogas and building of cogeneration plant to produce electricity and heat.
Participants expressed a great interest in the activities of RDA Srem in the field of biomass. Director of RDA Srem, Mr Milan Miric, announced a future project that will be conducted by RDA Srem. That will be the study of mapping of the conditions (spatial, infrastructure and resource) for the production and use of biogas in Srem region.
