lag_2015In „Norcev“ hotel, Fruska Gora, LEADER 2 Conference was held organized by local action groups (LAGs) Fruska Gora – Danube with international participation. Representatives of the civil, private and public sectors of the municipality Beočin, Sid, Sremski Karlovci and Backa Palanka LAG members, guests from the Republic of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Ministry of Agriculture and environmental protection, attended the Conference.

The conference was opened with the presentation of experiences of guests from LAG Baranja as one of the most successful LAG area in Croatia, who brought valuable examples of their activities and outcomes measured constructed wastewater facilities, business infrastructure, and cycle paths. Roman Haken, member of the European socio-economic committee, presented the examples of good practice through the implementation of the LEADER program and the functioning of LAGs in the Czech Republic, which has over 170 LAGs that cover 97% of the rural part of the territory of the Czech Republic.

In the sphere of inter-regional connectivity and enhancing international cooperation, creating a new framework for the launch of project initiatives, a protocol on cooperation between the LAG “Fruska Gora – the Danube” with the Regional Development Agency Srem, Fruska Gora National Park and LAG Baranja, was signed.

RDA Srem has shown its readiness to provide full support to this initiative, especially in the area of identification, preparation and implementation of projects that would intensify the most efficient way of socio – economic development of the LAG area and the region as a whole.
