The Republic of Serbia is taking part for the second time at the World Exposition EXPO 2015 in Milan, with the official theme of appearances „Flavor of the food. Feel the life.“. Performance of the Republic of Serbia, within which is provided 14 days of promotion of the region of Vojvodina, will seek to portray closer to visitors of the pavilion the look of today’s Serbia through the rich Serbian cuisine, culture and tradition. The anticipated performance term of AP Vojvodina was 01.- 14. 06. 2015 and the region of Srem had the honor to present it’s gastro – touristic potentials first, from 01. to 03.06.2015.
Representatives of Srem in a clear, interesting and original way presented the best wines and dishes from the region with a kitchen show and tasting dishes such as Srem’s cake, Bundt cake and gingerbreads, and also unavoidable ethno events and famous Tamburitza bands from Srem.
Regional Development Agency Srem with its project „The Danube cycling – the establishment of regional cycling route Srem“, the third day of the promotion of Srem and its development potential, showed that the mandatory requirement of sustainable development is continued investment and attraction of investments in research and development projects, and regional networking and the strengthening of local identity. In addition, the most important benefits for the economy of Srem is the promotion and positioning of Srem as an investment and trading partner which has development projects worth investing in.
Also, very important is aspect of ecologically clean region of Srem with developed agricultural production and supporting small producers, with special emphasis on the development of Srem as a tourist destination in the minds of investors, business partners and potential visitors from Europe and the world.
The impression is that many visitors to the pavilion enjoyed with all the senses, with a relaxed domestic atmosphere and consuming of food and wine from Srem in an environment that linked rural and urban, and in a specific way evoked Srem’s culture, tradition and professionalism.
