Initiated by the Regional Development Agency of Srem (RDA), a working meeting with representatives of the Department for Project Management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection was held in Belgrade. The subject of the meeting was the presentation of the procedure for applying with project proposals for the new programming period IPA II. Special emphasis is placed on the „Protection of the Sava River Basin by construction of utility infrastructure of collection, transport and treatment of wastewater in Srem“ project, whose head is the city of Sremska Mitrovica . The Deputy Mayor Tomislav Jankovic attended the meeting.
Olja Stanic Maric, from the correspondent Ministry, has been thoroughly informed about the principles and methodology RDA Srem uses to prepare all its infrastructure projects and it was noted with gratification that the region of Srem is at a very high level of readiness for withdrawal of donor funds at this point.
Milan Miric, Director of RDA Srem, pointed out that this approach to project’s issues, with regionalization and fragmentation of projects and the associated power of seven municipalities of Srem, has the space to be expressed through existing forms of identification and selection of projects in the Ministry.
It was agreed that representatives of the Ministry to be present at one of the following working meetings IMWG (Inter-municipal working group), where will the representatives of all Srem municipalities be present with the most competent people and where terms of reference will be adopted, audited or the project-technical documentation of projects for regional projects relevant environmental sector adopted.
