On March the 3rd 2017, the work on setting up cycling signalization along the route Srem has officially started. The Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism financed the project, worth RSD 2,000,000.00. RDA Srem, as a contracting authority, and “Paleta Color” from Novi Sad, as the perpetrator, are in charge of the works to be well executed and on time, at the latest by 15th April 2017, when the tourist season officially begins in the National Park “Fruska gora”.

At the same time begins the work on setting up mobiliary on the cycling route Srem funded by RSD 2.700.000,00  provided by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.

This is especially important if we know that the route will largely pass through the national park. It will be of great importance for cycle tourists, whose number is constantly increasing, providing special quality and safety. The connection with the route Srem with Srijem route (border crossing Šid – Tovarnik), laterals in Beocin and Novi Sad and connection with the international route EuroVelo 6 to Banstol in Indjija, will also  provide a greater influx of foreign cycling fans. Thus marked routes allow family farms, wineries, restaurants, artisans and other service providers to offer their products to this extremely profitable tourist market.

These works are financed by the Government of AP Vojvodina and should be completed by May 15th 2017.

Those works supported by national funds, are particularly important to Swiss donor, the Swiss Agency for Development (SDC), which funded program to support regional/rural development in Serbia worth 1.7 mil CHF.  The Srem region with associated region of Mačva, is one of the two selected sub-regions. RDA Srem and its partners from the public, private and civil sector developed project activities with a focus on cycling, which will have a significant effect for further, sustainable development of rural areas of the Srem region.
